Morrow, GA - Senior guard Phillippe Harris received second team honors on the 2007-08 Daktronics Men's Basketball Division II All-South Atlantic Region Team. Harris, a native of Fayetteville, NC, finished the 2007-08 season second in the CIAA in scoring, averaging 17.6 points per game. The 5'11, physical education major led the conference in free throw percentage (.843), minutes played (35.92 minutes per game), and was second to his teammate Andy Gebru in three-point field goals made (2.81 per game). In addition to being one of the statistical leaders in the conference, Harris scored his 1000th career point this season against Johnson C. Smith University. Behind his leadership the Broncos advanced to the finals of the 2008 CIAA Men's Basketball Tournament. Harris was the leading scorer in each of the Broncos' three tournament games, named Most Valuable Player in the Quarter and Semi-finals, and selected to the 2008 All-CIAA Tournament Team. Two players will share "Player of the Year" honors for the Daktronics Division II South Atlantic Region for men's basketball. This year's honorees for Player of the Year are Sean Barnette from Wingate University and Anthony Hilliard from Elizabeth City State University. In addition, Barnette and Hilliard were also selected first team All-South Atlantic Region, joining Augusta State's Tyrekus Bowman, USC Aiken's Chris Commons and Virginia Union's Brad Byerson on the first team. 2008 Daktronics Men's All-South Atlantic Region Team
