CIAA ANNOUNCES 2008 ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS AND PLAYERS OF THE YEAR



Congratulations to the Broncos selected to the All-Conference Teams

Hampton, VA - The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's and Women's Basketball Coaches Associations have selected the honorees of the 2008 All-CIAA Teams and Players of the Year.

On the men's side, senior Phillippe Harris and junior Andy Gebru were backcourt selections to the 2008 Men's All-CIAA Basketball Team.

Harris, a native of Fayetteville, NC, is second in the CIAA in scoring, averaging 17.2 points per game. The 5'11, physical education major leads the conference in free throw percentage (.860), minutes played (35.71 minutes per game), and third in three-point field goals made (2.71 per game).

Gebru, also a physical education major, is the leader in three-point field goals made (3.1 per game) for the CIAA and fourth in scoring with a 16.7 average per game. A native of Orlando, FL, the 6'4 guard currently ranks seventh in the conference in steals with 1.46 steals per game and 11th in assists with a 3.0 avg.

The only Lady Bronco selection to the 2008 Women's All-CIAA Basketball Team was senior guard Leticia Dickson.

Dickson is a 5'4 guard from Smithfield, NC that transferred to Fayetteville State from Campbell University. The sociology major is currently ranked third in the conference in scoring with 15.7 points per game and 15th in assists with a 2.24 avg. Dickson currently ranks second in the CIAA in three-point field goals made (1.96 avg.) and three-point field goal percentage (.333).

The All-CIAA Teams and Players of the Year will be honored at the Women's and Men's Tip-Off Banquets on February 24th and 26th, respectively.
